FAQ's

  • What is the best way to contact you?

For general inquiries, the best way to contact us is either by filling out the contact form on Contact Page, emailing me at robert@roberttaylor.ca or phone (604) 600 - 6044

  • How quickly will you get back to me?

Typical response time for electronic messages like these are usually by the same or next business day.

  • How soon can you get started on my project?

I typically book projects 1 or 2 weeks in advance. You'll want to keep this in mind for planning purposes so that we can get your project scheduled as soon as possible.

The process generally starts out with an inquiry through a meeting or email, after which we put together a detailed proposal for you with several options to choose from. Once you receive the proposal, we can discuss it further in order to address any questions you may have, and to decide on the best plan of action for your site.

After deciding that we are a right fit for each other, a signed contract and deposit secures your development schedule.

  • How long will it take to finish my web site?

There's no exact answer to this, as the time will vary based on the complexity of the project, how quickly you respond to requests for feedback, as well as how large your web site is.

For the most part, however, most web sites are completed within 4-6 weeks.

  • How much does a web site cost?

There isn't a quick answer to this question, as there are so many variables involved...

For example - Do you need a static HTML web site, or a CMS (Content Management System) such as WordPress? Do you just need a custom WordPress theme, or do you need us to develop all of the interior pages, as well? Is this a 5 page site or a 50 page site?

There are too many unknowns without first having all of the details for your project.

  • What is your design process?

We have defined six primary steps in the web site design and development process. From gathering initial information, to the creation of your web site, and finally to maintenance to keep your web site up to date..

The Six Phases of the Web Site Design and Development Process

  1. Information Gathering
  2. Planning
  3. Design
  4. Development
  5. Testing and Delivery
  6. Maintenance

  • Where can I view my web site in progress?

Once the preliminary design for your web site is complete, we will give you access to login to our protected area. Here you will be able to view the preliminary designs, offer feedback for revisions, give approval to begin development, etc.

Once we have your approval on the completed web site, as well as receive payment on the final balance, we move the web site from our login area to your web server - making the site "live" and viewable to the public.

  • Will my site work in different web browsers?

Yes! Although we favour Google Chrome for it's strong support of web standards, we do test your web site in the latest versions of many of the most popular web browsers for optimum cross-browser compatibility.

We develop web sites primarily with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer in mind, but check compatibility with Safari and Opera, as well.

Please note that we focus on the current web browser versions. In particular, when it comes to Internet Explorer, we test with IE9 and IE10 in mind. Due to it's lack of security features, and lack of compliance with current web standards, we have phased out support for IE6, IE7 and IE8. We can optimize sites for this outdated browser, however it would be at an additional cost.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments made by Cash , personal / business checks and Email Money Transfers.

A signed contract and  deposit secure your start date on our schedule. Final balance is due upon completion of the project, before transfer of files to your web server.
